Christmas morning. I loved the fireplace on the TV but ol' scrooge didn't like it so well. Oh well at least he was with us this morning.

Birthday presents for Travis

This is what Travis gets for his birthday now adays. Notice the football game so it wasn't all that bad. He did get a popcicle. Ha-ha. Happy Birthday Travis.

This is just some later bribery. I love it.

Las Vegas snow

Snow days in Las Vegas. We started playing in our backyard then we went up to Grandma and Grandpa's . I took the kids out of school for this but I wasn't alone I got to their school and there were other parents so I didn't feel too bad. It was fun.
The official snow on the palm tree remover.

I think Taylin ate 2 gallons of this stuff.
Taylin made ice sculptures, Look a little duck.

Then the snow ball fights began.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! We are so thankful for this time of year. Not only did our dry desert receive snow and rain, that we desperately needed, but we were able to spend time with our family and friends over the past couple of weeks.

This year has been a great year. Clay and Taylin are growing way too fast and continue to enjoy fun times at school and with friends. Clay is in fourth grade and has an awesome teacher. He is learning so much and is really good at math. He played some basketball in the Fall but wants to continue with baseball in the Spring. He is taking great care of our animals and is very responsible.

Taylin is in all day kindergarten. She loves every minute of it. She comes home every day with a different story. It is fun to see her grow so independently. She has her own "unique" style and knows what she wants to wear, no matter if it matches or not. She is a great help around the house and loves to help cook. She is a little artist and will add her own touch to letters and cards that we send out.

Travis has started a new job and is loving it, don't worry same occupation, just different position. He has hunted a lot this year. We have a freezer full of elk and deer meat, if anybody wants some let us know (please). Travis continues to go to school and is getting close to his associates degree. then on to his bachelors. this Spring he wants to go turkey hunting so if anyone is interested let us know also.

I am working at the hospital at nights. I love that I get to spend days with my kids and volunteer at their school and then be home with them after school. I am still going to school on and off at University of Phoenix. Can't wait to be done! Our family has had a great year and we are so thankful for our family and friends. We hope all is well with each and everyone of you.

Mokey is home again

Funny story... We lost mokey (our rabbit) about two months ago. I was worried that he dug in too deep into his burrow (sp) and had been caved in. Travis thought a hawk swooped down to get him and the kids just didn't know. Anyways we kept hoping and looking for him each time we went out in the neighborhood. Well, the other night we were driving in our neighborhood and I saw a black rabbit. Of course Mokey has never come to us when we call his name but we would still try to catch him with no luck for two nights. Saturday afternoon we went out and saw him again and started talking to the owners of the house that he would hang out by. We gave the guy our phone number and he said he would call us if he saw him again. I thought ok, but didn't think he would call. Sunday morning he calls and says that he found him again and if we all try to get him we can capture him if we come right now. So we all get dressed and run out. We caught him, not knowing if it was really him we took him to the vet today and got his microchip verified. It was him! He has a bit of a tear on his eye that we have to give him medication for but other than that the vet says he is very lucky to have survived such an ordeal. I know! We are so happy to have him back with our family.

Wild west shoot out

Before the train ride to the Grand Canyon they had a wild west shoot out. It was funny. These guys are the same guys that robbed us. Taylin wanted nothing to do with leaving my side while they were in sight.

I know it's hokey but it put us in the wild west mood.

Williams, Arizona

Pictures around Williams.

Waiting for the train.
Still waiting.

Read the sign behind them. It's cute: Children, do not allow parents to play on tracks.

Of course the park. We always find a park in whatever town we go to.

The deer farm maze, I guess.

The historic Route 66 runs right through town. It is pretty cool to spot things from the Cars movie.

Cruisers restaurant.
Sunset outside our hotel window.

The kids loved this every time we drove by. See the woman hanging out the top window?

Mountain man Bill Williams is the town's namesake. This town and area is filled with so much history. I could have spent a full week there.
Of course we had to take a picture of this. Clay loved it.

The whole town from one end to the other end was decorated with Christmas lights and such. If anyone is interested they do a Christmas tree lighting on December 1st.

This was our last day, breakfast at the Pine country restaurant. If you do go don't eat at Max and Thelma's, a restaurant at the train depot, one word, gross! It was suppose to be a Christmas dinner buffet but I think it was a last years Christmas buffet.

This was quite eeerie. The town cemetery was big and very unkempt. It was a big forest area with tombstones and such everywhere. No rhyme or reason like the ones that I am use to. And where is the grass? I bet they have fun around Halloween. Clay and Taylin did not want to go in there but I found it very interesting.

Instead of plots they had little fenced areas. It was very bizarre.

This was on route 66 in the town Seligman. If you want any souvenirs buy them here they are more than half off everywhere else. I found that out a little too late.

Taylin posing as a scarecrow. See the mean face? For some reason she thinks scarecrows are mean.
